Course Profile: Medical English Combination
Medical English courses combine working in a small group to develop speaking and listening communication fluency. Reflecting real world and workplace multi-level communication scenarios, learn how to communicate effectively across different cultures and differing levels of English. Maximum 5 students per group.
Please note the speaking and listening group is a multi-level class for B1 to C1 participants. We believe this reflects real world multi-level communication scenarios our clients face on a regular basis.
What to expect in the speaking & listening group:
- Practise your conversation and communication skills, including; turn-taking, interaction patterns, listening habits, and small talk
- Carry out discussion, problem-solving, and presentation tasks
- Learn about cross-cultural theory and how your cultural characteristics are different from those of other nationalities and how this affects communication
The one-to-one classes focus on specific, individual needs and will develop your medical language and wider work-related vocabulary and communication skills.
What to expect in the Medical English 1-to-1 class:
- enhance your communication skills for dealing with English-speaking patients and colleagues
- develop specific vocabulary and expressions for English used in the medical sector
- practise giving presentations in English or taking a patient history, if necessary
- work on writing medical reports, emails or patient notes
- improve general and social English language skills and your pronunciation
- raise awareness of intercultural issues and ‘international English’
- work on your specific requests

Medical English course
Course Profile: Individual or private group
Individual Tuition (1-to-1) classes focus on specific, individual needs and help develop your Medical English vocabulary and communication skills. You can choose exactly what areas of English you want to focus on during the whole course.
Private mini groups are available for 2 to 5 students with a similar level of English. You can study with your colleagues, friends or family.
What to expect:
- enhance your communication skills for dealing with English-speaking patients and colleagues
- practise patient dialogues
- develop specific vocabulary and expressions for English used in the medical sector
- practise giving presentations in English, if required
- work on writing reports, emails or patient notes
- raise awareness of intercultural issues and ‘international English’
