As we enter another month of lockdown here at ECS Scotland, the sun continues to shine on a very empty and quiet central Edinburgh.
The hushed silence of the school building reminds us of the missing, but most important ingredient of our school - our wonderful international clients and our dedicated staff.
On the other hand, an empty school building provides some respite from the ongoing busyness going on at home by members of the household. There has indeed been a lot of cleaning and baking going on to stave off any trace of boredom. At the same time, we have been looking to the foreseeable future and the adjustments ECS Scotland has to make in response to the current challenging and changing English language teaching market.
Our commitment to providing quality and specialised English teaching by our qualified and experienced teachers remains, but in the short term it is the delivery of this teaching that will change. Some clients continue to be taught online but we have already launched 3 of our specialised courses online: Academic English, Legal English and Medical English, in line with Quality English online standards for online courses.
ECS Scotland will also be launching specific evening courses and flexi courses in the school building for international professionals based in Scotland once current restrictions are lifted.
Additionally, our small group general English courses will also see some changes until the global travel situation settles down. However, we are well placed to observe any social distancing or other measures in the school, as traditionally we have focused on small groups or 1:1 teaching - social groupings which are paramount at the moment.
So this is where ECS Scotland is for now. We hope you stay safe, healthy and positive over the coming weeks and months. Please keep in touch with us via social media or email, we are always happy to hear from past, present and future students and colleagues!
